2-Day Comprehensive Pistol Course
Continuing on the success of our 1-day pistol courses, Altus is pleased to announce our 2-day comprehensive pistol course. In addition to two full days of professional training, the price includes an overnight stay at our new 6,000 square foot lodging facility! The lodge has a full gym, kitchen, grill, Traeger Smokers, big screen TV’s, showers, weapons cleaning area, washer/dryer and even arcade games.
Our goal with these courses is 2-fold. First, to be able to get two full days of professional firearms training with our elite instructors. Second, is to provide an environment to engage with our instructors and like-minded individuals after a good day of training.
"Joshua and Ferg put on an exceptional training course. Created a solid baseline for pistol fundamentals to start, then tailored the learning to our group and abilities as the day went on. It was informative, challenging and fun. Highly recommend this course for anyone looking to be more confident in their ability carry and defend themselves with a handgun. Looking forward to the next course."

ALTUS 2 Day Comprehensive Pistol Course
“I highly recommend the courses offered by the Altus team taught by Mr. Josh Apple. I have attended two thus far, the Comprehensive Pistol and Conceal Carry courses. The courses work well as a matched set. As the Conceal Carry course dovetails in well with the information/exercise presented in the Pistol course providing shooting reinforcement and new information. The various exercises developed by Mr. Apple in each course illustrated my shooting decencies and ill practices. However, his constructive criticism and added suggestions provided after each exercise helped improve my abilities and built confidence. In the end I am a much better shooter after participating in the courses. In addition to the shooting exercise introduced in each course, the first aid instruction provided in the Conceal Carry course added to my basic knowledge of first aid acquired over the years. This information is applicable to emergency situations on and off the range. In sum, the time spent attending the offered course will make the attendee a better, more confident, and safer shooter.”

ALTUS 2 DAY COMPREHENSIVE PISTOL COURSE
I have taken multiple shooting courses, military and civilian. I continue to invest in other courses no matter how much I have learned or improved in skill. My mindset is that you can always improve and learn more, especially in the art of marksmanship. I came into this course with the expectation of building on my defensive pistol abilities, and I must say I was not disappointed. The course is appropriately named “Comprehensive Pistol Course,” and it is just that. It is an excellent course for beginners and advanced pistol marksmen. It began with covering the basic pistol fundamentals, which serve as the foundation for beginners and/or a review for advanced shooters. It is taught with a craw, walk, jog methodology yet has the ability to be tailored to the ability of the class as a whole, but for the more advanced shooters, it still has the flexibility for you to challenge yourself if you find yourself with a more novice group of students. I highly recommend this course for anyone who is just learning to shoot a pistol and needs to build the foundations and confidence in their ability to carry and defend themselves with a handgun, as well as anyone who is more advanced and wants to learn some new techniques possibly but most definitely challenge yourself especially while engaging the HEKTR. Josh is an excellent marksmanship instructor for both beginner and advanced shooters! He displayed himself very professionally and very knowledgeable on all aspects of the fundamentals, both basic and combat/defensive applications of the pistol. The lodging facility is first-rate! I wish more courses that I have attended had provided this. It provides more than enough amenities for a 2-day overnight stay.

Comprehensive Pistol Course
This course instructed by Josh A. was outstanding. He covered a multitude of topics including various pistol calibers and their purposes, different pistol action types, trigger control, dry-fire techniques, grip techniques for controlling recoil, drawing from a holster, reloading, and shooting on the move. These may seem like topics that would typically be covered after an introductory course, however the way the topics were presented and instructed makes it easy for someone relatively new to firearms gain the confidence they need to become proficient. It takes more than shooting static on a flat range at a single target to become competent with a pistol, especially when training for personal defense, and this course provides the necessary foundation for shooters to continue developing those skills on their own. As someone who has been shooting firearms for most of their life, I was amazed at how much I learned and I realized how much further I have to go in my firearms training.
